CARROLLWOOD – Entering the Halloween season, there are spooktacular events around every corner, and this year the Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation brings back a favorite activity that includes fun for your doggy companion as well.
This month, mark your calendars for the third annual Howl-N-Growl, a costumed canine event. This free event is scheduled to take place from 8-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at Carrollwood Village Park, 4680 W. Village Drive, Tampa.
Parks and Recreation will offer prizes for contests such as who can perform the best trick, wag their tail the most, and a few costumed categories as well.
Pet owners are welcome to come in their Halloween costumes and participate in the K9/human tandem costume contest, show off their dog’s most original costume, spookiest attire, and overall “Beast in Show.”
“One year, we had a family come out as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf,” said Brad Lympany, Nature Program Specialist for the Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation Department. “It’s an event for people to come out and spend some time at the park.”
The event is a casual get together for residents and visitors to enjoy the Carrollwood Village Park where they can mingle with friends and family and snap pictures with adorable pups in costumes.
